How good of a driver are you really? Test your skills with the KANETIX.ca DriveSmart app that grades your driving. Why? Auto insurers in Canada are increasingly offering drivers the opportunity to join a usage-based insurance program, which monitors how you drive to determine if you ll get a discount off your insurance. The KANETIX.ca DriveSmart app will give you some insight on how your driving stacks up and if you could save on your insurance. The KANETIX.ca DriveSmart app will grade your driving on the most important components that will be looked at in a usage-based insurance program; acceleration, braking, and handling and you ll be given a score for each (plus some tips for improvement, if needed). The app also takes into consideration your speed, when you drive, and for how long, which is then factored into your overall driving score. Drivers with an overall average score over 70 are considered safer drivers, and will likely benefit from a usage-based insurance program. Are you up to the challenge? The nitty-gritty The app runs in the background and automatically detects when you start driving; it s completely hands-free so there s no need start or stop the app, or check your phone while driving in fact, your driving score will be penalized if you do. You're graded on your acceleration, braking and handling skills, as well as an overall score for every trip. Features: * A hands-free automatic trip start and end detection. * A progression graph that shows how your scores have changed. * Customizable time frames to view your scores, distance driven, average speed, and more. * Badges that are earned for good driving techniques. App Notes: Every province in Canada has laws against the use of handheld devices while driving. Drive safe and avoid a ticket. Do not check in on the app while on the road. For long trips, plug in your device. Prolonged use of GPS will greatly decrease your device's battery life. KANETIX will not share your trip details with any insurer, and use of this app will not have any impact on your insurance rates. Scores within this app will not guarantee discounts if joining a usage-based insurance program.
